Mountain Clinic

Mountain Medicine Clinic

Do you often go to the mountains despite having a chronic condition? Are you about to embark on a sports expedition or a vacation in a remote mountain location or at high altitude, like the Andes or the Himalayas? Or have you suffered from altitude sickness in the past and want to better understand your body’s responses?

Mountain Clinic is Eurac Research’s mountain medicine clinic where an expert team can provide you with a comprehensive range of advice.

Mountain Medicine Clinic

What we do and why we do it

The Mountain Clinic was created to improve the health of people who frequent the mountains, especially at high altitudes. It was conceived and is managed by the staff of the Eurac Research Institute for Mountain Emergency Medicine: a team of doctors and researchers with solid skills in the clinical, research and dissemination fields regarding exposure to high altitudes and medicine in mountain environments.

The Mountain Clinic’s activities are carried out in synergy with and in support of the prevention, diagnosis and therapy initiatives of the South Tyrolean Health Authority.

Our services:

mountain medicine visits and consultations

diagnostic tests to identify reduced tolerance to high altitudes (hypoxia tests)

research and teaching activities in collaboration with universities and research organizations
